To add to its broad portfolio of traffic products, Axis Communications has launched the new AXIS Q1615 Mk III Network Camera. With the proprietary Axis ARTPEC chip, this top-of-the-line camera combines exceptional image quality with powerful AI-accelerator processing capabilities, thanks to a deep learning processing unit (DLPU). Adding this DPLU power to the camera allows third parties to add advanced deep learning applications and analytics right on the camera. An example of the edge-based applications includes automatic incident detection, vehicle counting and anomaly detection in traffic patterns.

With up to 120 fps in HDTV 1080p, the camera captures excellent detailed images of fast-moving objects and people. The camera features Axis Lightfinder 2.0 and Axis Forensic WDR for high-quality colour images even when in near darkness and in blinding light conditions.  Additionally, the AXIS Q1615 Mk III Network Camera also has a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) that is FIPS 140-2 level 2 certified, ensuring secured network security. Full details on the camera, including a video of the device in action, is available at this link.

Axis Communications is a leader of IP-based products and solutions and offers a purpose-built portfolio for roadside surveillance. With a focused suite of traffic products that includes high quality, reliable video through PTZ, thermal and licence plate capture cameras, combined with analytics for real-time alerts, Axis makes it easier to manage a safer and more efficient road.
