Five tolling agencies and a private firm have captured top honours in the 3804 International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) 2016 National Toll Excellence Awards.
Recipients of the 2016 awards include: Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise – I-4 Connector, which receives the Administration & Finance award, while the North Carolina Turnpike Authority receives the Customer Service & Marketing Outreach for its multi-agency interoperability capability.
The Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency in Orange County, California receives the Social Responsibility Award for the State Route 241 Wildlife Safety Fence Improvement Project. The Technology Award goes to Harris County Toll Road Authority in Houston for its Prohibited Vehicle Rapid Alert System (RAS) and Central Florida Expressway Authority receives the Toll Operations, Maintenance & Engineering Award for its wrong-way pilot driving program.
CDM Smith, a privately operated firm receives the Private Sector Innovation award for its national interstate tolling analysis tool.
The awards will be presented during IBTTA's 84th Annual Meeting and Exhibition, September 11-16 in Denver, where one recipient also will be honoured with the prestigious President’s Award for Excellence.
Earl J. ‘Buddy’ Croft III, executive director for the6162 Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority and IBTTA president said the award recipients represent the leading edge of excellence, innovation and achievement in the tolling industry, while Patrick D. Jones, executive director and CEO of IBTTA said this year’s submissions demonstrated a particularly high level of innovation.
