Ontario is the site of the first Canadian full-city installation of the McCain ATC Cabinet.

Swarco McCain is partnering with distributor Innovative Traffic Solutions to upgrade 122 intersections in the City of Greater Sudbury.

To be completed in 2024, the deal is part of the city’s plan to upgrade traffic management infrastructure to a modern system that allows for future growth.

It will also allow the City to leverage additional systems like transit signal priority and emergency vehicle preemption.

The cabinets deployed include the McCain M ATC cabinet, with the traditional M footprint of NEMA cabinets, and McCain 356i ATC cabinet.

“This project aligns with City Council’s commitment to asset management and service excellence,” said Tony Cecutti, general manager, infrastructure services for the City of Greater Sudbury.

“[This project] relies on an organisation that demonstrates a willingness to plan, implement, and innovate in accordance with short and long-term priorities. Initiatives that address this priority not only enable reliable service delivery; they also minimise costs for taxpayers in the long term.”
